Our Brewer Eric Stacy: GM Chef Jimmy

The Deep Creek Brewing co. is owned and operated by Deep Creek Brewing Co., LLC, which is comprised of local entrepreneurial investors. The company was founded in June 1996 as a way to bring great beer to Western Maryland.

During Thanksgiving 1996, the first Deep Creek Gold rolled into the county. By Autumn Glory 1997, Youghiogheny Red was born and distribution reached the Baltimore area. Today, kegs and cases of our beer are available in Northern Virginia as well as most of Maryland & parts of Pennsylvania.

We use the black bear as our logo because they symbolize the true strength and character of the county. Black Bears were almost extinct in Maryland and now have rebounded to a population over 300.

The first restaurant opened in April 1999 across from the Garrett Eight Cinemas. The brewery system arrived in August 1999 and we have been brewing all of our own beers since that date. The brewery is from Slovakia and is a 10 bbl system. This allows us to brew approximately 310 gallons per batch.

Every year the Deep Creek Brewing Company hosts the Western Maryland Bikes, Brews and Blues Fest. This fantastic event combines a bike tour in the morning followed by some of the best brews and blues around. Check our front desk for the brochure and plan your next trip.
